Last year this sweet family booked a First Year Collection with About Time Photography before their little one arrived. At that time they didn’t know whether they were having a boy or a girl and I was already excited to document some memories for them as their baby grew from a newborn to a one-year-old.

It feels like we were just doing their newborn session, but here we are, a year later! It was a blast getting to know them over the year and it’s so fun to look back through Baby {J}’s newborn and six-month sessions now that he’s a big one-year-old!

Here are just a few from those early days as a new family of three! Baby {J} was not a fan of his newborn session (although you’d never know it) and he fought every blanket and swaddle we tried to put him in! This is so funny thinking back on because at his other sessions he was such a smiley kid and totally hammed it up for the camera!

Look at those eyelashes already! Hard to believe that they get even better!

In January I met up with Baby {J} and his mama at Briggs Nursery for his six-month session. I could not get over his fuzzy hair and smiles! And that hat!! He wasn’t crawling just yet, but seemed like he’d be on the move any day!

And before we knew it it was time to schedule his one-year cake smash session! We met up at Bird Park in Walpole, Massachusetts on a beautiful summer evening! It’s truly remarkable all that changes in just one year! He’s walking all over and I had to chase him all around for these shots!

Perfect time for an updated family photo!

It’s so much fun to see what little ones do when you set a cake down in front of them…

At first Baby {J} didn’t even realize what he had access to…and just went right for his favorite Curious George!

But once we showed him the cake…he couldn’t believe what we were letting him do!

Happy first birthday, Baby {J}! I’m so honored to have been there to document this very special year for your family! As part of the First Year Collection, this family will also be receiving an album with photos from all sessions throughout the year! It will make an amazing family heirloom that will be cherished for years to come!
